LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A festival honoring Muhammad Ali will return to Louisville in June.
The Ali Festival will be held from June 1-9, inspired by the legendary boxer and humanitarian's six core principles: confidence, conviction, dedication, giving, respect and spirituality.Â
According to a news release, the centerpiece of the Ali Festival will be the Community Free Day with the Ali Fest Carnival from noon to 5 p.m. People have the chance to explore the Muhammad Ali Center in downtown Louisville with free admission.
Christian McBride, a Grammy-winning jazz musician, will perform on June 8. McBride will meet with Louisville Orchestra conductor Teddy Abrams to tape his Sirius XM show.
Ali Fest 2024 includes a variety of events:Â
- June 2: Ali Fest Carnival from noon to 5 p.m. offers free admission to the Muhammad Ali Center, along with food, games, music and more. Guests can skip the lines and pre-register for free tickets by clicking here.
- June 6: Greatest Give Back is a day of service led by the Ali Center and Metro United Way. Volunteers engage in service projects throughout the day.
- June 7: Daughters of Greatness - Whitney Austin will recognize the executive director of the WhitneyStrong organization
- June 8: Music with Muhammad features Christian McBride, who will meet with Teddy Abrams.
- June 8: Ali-Ville Trolley Tour from 1-3 p.m. allows visitors to take a ride through the city that was home to Ali. To purchase $50 tickets, click here.
