LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Republic Bank just gave its largest donation to Metro United Way.
The bank raised more than $188,000 — the biggest donation the bank has made to the Louisville nonprofit.
Mayor Craig Greenberg helped celebrate the co-chairs who made the donation possible on Thursday, and said the bank is showing its commitment to downtown.Â
The donation campaign began last August, and will conclude at the end of February.
"At Metro United Way, we are hyper-focused on thriving kids, making sure we have a community focused on safe households," Metro United Way CEO Adria Johnson said. "And a community that is equitable — meaning that, regardless of where you reside, where you were born, that your zip code doesn't determine your destiny."
Leaders are encouraging corporate partners and donors to exceed their donations from previous years to help the community.
