LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Nine Shelby County families were blessed over the holiday weekend.
The Shelby County Public Schools Transportation Department arranged a food drive and was overwhelmed at the amount of support it received.
The department collected turkeys, gift cards, and over 500 food items for local families.
"We believe in helping our community behind the wheel and beyond our community serving others," Mannie Stone, transportation director for the department, said in a news release Tuesday.
Members of the department traveled around the county in a bus to deliver the meals to the lucky families.
