LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Train enthusiasts were in their element Saturday — but in small scale.
The National Model Railroad Association’s Mid Central Region held its train show and sale Saturday at the Holy Family Parish Saffin Center.
This is the largest train show in Kentucky. There were model trains in all scales, operating layouts and displays.
Dozens of dealers and vendors showcased their trains and sets. Planning for the show starts several months in advance.
"It all starts with a train when someone is a kid," show organizer Mike Berry said. "Virtually every single story is the same. They had a train at Christmas around the tree. They got older, they moved away from trains — girls and cars and whatever — the train disappeared, but they never lost that love for it."
