LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Sellersburg high school tennis team was sent off to state in style.
The halls were full of chants and cheers as the Silver Creek High School boys tennis team headed for state Thursday afternoon.
Classmates and faculty showed their support as the team walked through the school before they left for their big match with a police escort out of the parking lot.
"We've accomplished something that no other team or tennis program has finished," Ben Ahlbrand, Silver Creek boys and girls tennis head coach, said. "We've been able to make it to state, first time in program history."
Silver Creek will face Hamilton Southeastern in the quarterfinals at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 17. For more information about the boys tennis state finals, click here.
