LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- For the second straight year, Humana employees spent a day giving back to the community.

Humana Community Day is Thursday, Sept. 4. Thousands of Humana employees dressed in green shirts took part in a wide range of service projects across the city.

Some of those projects included creating nutrition and care packages with Pack Hope and Metro United Way, beautifying Louisville's urban green spaces through landscaping and cleaning projects, and painting a mural on Humana's Brook Street parking garage.

"It's really important, because this is our hometown," said Humana Foundation CEO Tiffany Benjamin. "We are a community, and we are part of the Louisville and Kentucky community, and the Kentuckiana community. And so we really want to make sure that we are showing up."

Humana Community Day has even expanded across the country.
