LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Astronomy lovers gathered Saturday for a night under the stars.
WDRB Chief Meteorologist Marc Weinberg hosted a star party along with Louisville's Astronomical Society Saturday evening at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park in eastern Jefferson County.
Telescopes were set up, giving people an up-close look at Saturn, Jupiter, moon craters and even galaxies. All ages and expertise enjoyed the outer space views.
"I just want to share this passion with the community," James Nolan, amateur astronomer, said. "To let people know there's a whole universe out there to look at, and maybe they can develop a passion and desire themselves."
If you missed Saturday's star party, don't worry, there will be more chances throughout the year. Follow WDRB Chief Meteorologist Marc Weinberg's social media for the next chance to gaze up at the stars.Â
