The donation will help the university fast-track development of the research and apply to the Food and Drug Administration to begin treating people infected with COVID-19, U of L said in a news release.

More than 300 Kentuckians have died since contracting COVID-19, which has infected more than more 6,400 people across the state. 

The study involves testing local health care workers for COVID-19 antibodies in an effort to re-open the city's economy responsibly and safety.
