Flags 4 Vets plants 14,000 flags at Waterfront Park each year on Memorial Day to honor veterans and first responders.

When it's finished, the flags will spell out USA in a 450-foot display.
Park leaders said Wednesday that nearly $270,000 of its $335,000 goal has been raised so far, but there is still a long way to go.
Flags4Vets is asking people to park and gather at Breckinridge School at 1351 Payne St.
