Officials with the Kentucky Blood Center say they haven't seen a shortage this low in the 30 years they've worked at the organization.Â
The center said it typically sees fewer donations this time of year, and it's still trying to replenish its shelves from the pandemic.Â
Officials said Monday that while the blood supply always suffers over the summer, it has reached critical levels for many blood types.Â
