Gov. Andy Beshear plans to unveil a 'bonus' incentive for Kentuckians receiving unemployment benefits to go back to work, taking a cue from other states that have created similar programs.
The Kentucky Office of Unemployment Insurance mailed Notice of Determination letters to around 14,000 unemployment insurance claimants who were overpaid in 2020.
Beshear said the bonus program is a compromise meant to get Kentuckians off the sidelines while also resisting calls from employers and Republicans to end the federal $300 weekly supplement to jobless claims.
