Louisville Metro Police will be using their helicopters to keep an eye on traffic and crowds for Derby week.

There are always hundreds of officers on the ground, but LMPD also has two Air Units to keep an eye on things from up above.
Louisville Metro Police Chief Jacquelyn Gwinn-Villaroel told the Council Public Safety Committee Wednesday evening that the department's current helicopter is so old, they can't buy parts for it.
