The statue of King Louis XVI that sits outside Metro Hall in downtown Louisville, Ky., had one of its hands broken off during a protest Thursday, May 28, 2020.

City crews spent much of Friday morning spray washing graffiti off buildings and sweeping up debris.
"LMPD’s goal is to allow for a peaceful display of your feelings," Louisville Metro Police Lt. Col. LaVita Chavous said Friday afternoon.
