LMPD released video of a car hitting a protester Wednesday morning near Jefferson Square. One of the protesters ran after the car and pulled a gun. Police want to speak to the driver. June 17, 2020  Image from video provided by the Real Time Crime Center.Â

According to an LMPD news release, at one point, "protesters were engaging with a car on Liberty," but the car sped off, hitting one of the protesters.
The victim also told police that one of the rioters had a handgun and that she was "in fear for her life and drove away from the crowd," and struck one of the protesters who was running towards her vehicle.
Police said Theodore Johnson IV and Anthony Talbert-Russell were part of a crowd that blocked a driver's car at about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at 6th and Liberty Streets.
