LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man died after being hit by a car on Fern Valley Road.Ā 

In a news release, Louisville Metro Police said officers responded about 7:40 p.m. Tuesday to a pedestrian being hit in the area of Fern Valley and Shepherdsville Roads.Ā 

When officers arrived, they found a 19-year-old man badly injured. He was taken to UofL Health Hospital in downtown Louisville in critical condition.

Wednesday afternoon police said in an update that the victim had died at the hospital.

The driver that hit the man stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. No charges are expected.Ā 

The LMPD Traffic Unit is investigating.Ā
