LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Crews have installed 50% of pipe on a construction project along River Road.Â
The Louisville Water Company continues to replace aging pipes on River Road and entered a new phase several weeks ago. The two-year construction project launched by the Louisville Water Company, is set to span from Zorn Avenue to Prospect.Â
This week, River Road between Blankenbaker Lane and Lime Kiln Lane will be limited to local access only. Crews will be working between River Valley Club and Glenview Avenue.Â
Residents of Rockledge Drive should follow signage for current entry and exit access. People should use Blankenbaker Lane to access these locations:
- Knights of Columbus
- Rivers Edge Road
- Waterglen Place
- Longview Lane
- Boxhill Lane
- Woodside Road
- Rockledge Drive (following mid-week access changes from Lime Kiln Lane)
People should use Lime Kiln Lane to access locations that include:
- Virginia Chance School
- Rockledge Drive (Access will change to Blankenbaker Lane mid-week.)
- Glenview Avenue
Work in Zone 2 is expected to last three to six months. The goal is to finish most of the work by next summer.Â
The Louisville Water Company expects the project to take about two years to complete. In ideal weather conditions, the company aims to lay about 200 feet of pipe per day.
