LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Firefighters rushed to the scene of a fire in a vacant house in the Shawnee neighborhood early Tuesday to find it engulfed in flames.
The Louisville Fire Department received a report of a fire at 5:48 a.m. at a home in the 3400 block of Vermont Avenue, according to a news release Tuesday. Firefighters arrived on scene within three minutes to find intense flames on the first floor.
Firefighters searched the home while making "an aggressive interior attack." No one was found inside.
Pictures from the scene showed flames from the fire close to a neighboring home, but it suffered no damage.
It took 25 firefighters approximately 30 minutes to bring the fire under control "using multiple handlines and a large diameter hose to protect nearby houses from exposure."
No injuries were reported. The Louisville Arson Unit is investigating to determine the cause of the fire.
