LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- One of Louisville's oldest doughnut shops has reopened, months after it was damaged in a fire last spring.

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts at 3000 Bardstown Road in the Gardiner Lane Shopping Center reopened at 6 a.m. Tuesday.

The reopening comes after crews rebuilt the roof after a fire in May caused serious damage. Forty firefighters arrived on the scene in three minutes and got the fire under control in about 15 minutes, but the roof and attic suffered heavy damage.

Investigators determined the fire was intentionally set, and Michael Moore, 41, was arrested and charged with arson, criminal mischief and several counts of wanton endangerment.

Louisville Fire Department officials said he used an "incendiary device thrown onto the building." Investigators found a plastic bottle on the roof after the fire.

Moore remains jailed on a $100,000 bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 10, 2025, according to online records.
