LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Construction work is underway to reopen the Krispy Kreme on Bardstown Road in Louisville.

Crews have started to rebuild the roof of the doughnut shop after a fire back in May caused serious damage. Forty firefighters arrived on the scene one of Louisville's oldest donut shops just north of Interstate 64 in three minutes and were able to get the fire under control in about 15 minutes, leaving heavy damage to the roof and attic.

Michael Moore, 40, was eventually charged with first-degree arson and first-degree wanton endangerment. Louisville Fire Department officials said the fire was started using an "incendiary device thrown onto the building." It was a plastic bottle, firefighters said, but they haven't said what was in it.

Krispy Kreme has not announced a reopening date.
