LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- In the hours before leaving office, former President Joe Biden gave a full and unconditional pardon to former Kentucky Democratic Party chair Jerry Lundergan.

An executive grant of clemency was filed with the U.S. Department of Justice by Biden on Sunday.

Alison Lundergan Grimes, the Kentucky secretary of state from 2012 to 2020, lost the race to Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell.

Lundergan was sentenced in July 2020 to spend 21 months in prison and to pay a $150,000 fine.

Just before Biden ended his presidential term, he also announced pardons for his siblings and their spouses.

Early Monday, it was announced that Biden had pardonedĀ Dr. Anthony Fauci, retired Gen. Mark Milley and members of the House committee that investigated the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.Ā
