LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Bearno's Pizza is set to relocate its downtown Louisville location, but first, it's hosting two celebrations.
After more than 25 years at Main and 2nd streets, Bearno's is moving to South 3rd and West Market streets. The final day for Bearno's By the Bridge is planned for Dec. 23.
On Wednesday, Bearno's is recognizing Chrissy Helstern, an employee who has worked at that location since it opened in 1997. Helstern is being honored with "Chrissy's Last Lunch" from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Bearno's is also holding a "Family Reunion" on Friday from 6 to 10 p.m., encouraging former employees and the public to celebrate memories at the restaurant.
Bearnos' owner said rent got too high and he was considering relocating before the pandemic.
A new tenant is already planning to take over the current location, but the details have not yet been announced.
