LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Buc-ee's is expanding to its third location in Kentucky.
The Oak Grove City Council approved the plans Tuesday night, an addition that's expected to be a huge economic benefit to the city.
Buc-ee's is working on closing on the property and is hopeful to break ground in 2025, Christian County Now reported. The beloved gas station will be on the other side of Interstate 24, just off of Highway 115 at Exit 89 near the Tennessee border.
Oak Grove is close to the Fort Campbell army base and just north of Clarksville, Tennessee.Â
Buc-ee's is equal parts food court, clothing store and souvenir shop. Customers can not only gas up at dozens of pump but they can also venture inside and buy everything from brisket sandwiches carved on a butcher's block to Buc-ee's T-shirts, shorts and even swimsuits.
The Texas-based chain has two other locations in Kentucky -- one in Richmond and one in Smiths Grove. The Smiths Grove location recently opened in June, bringing a lot of anticipation from fans who've experienced Buc-ee's in other states across the South.
Chris Sutter was on a mission on opening day.Â
Buc-ee's was founded in 1982. Since beginning its multi-state expansion in 2019, Buc-ee's has opened travel centers in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina, Tennessee, Missouri and Colorado.
