LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- More than 190,000 people are expected to attend Louder Than Life over the next four days.

Louder Than Life kicks off Thursday, bringing another wave of music fans to the city.

On Wednesday, crews were busy putting the finishing touches on the transition from last weekend's Bourbon and Beyond music festival. Fans are ready to rock out and wear some rain gear too.

"Know you're going to get wet but we are going to do everything in our power to ensure you still have a rocking time in the rain," Chamie McCurry with Danny Wimmer Presents General Manager.

McCurry said festival officials have safety measures in place in case of severe weather. Current forecasts don't appear to have severe weather, but winds could be an issue from the remnants of Hurricane Helene.

"If lighting is within a certain radius we would pause the show to allow fans to be able to go back to their campgrounds to see shelter, in their vehicles," McCurry said.

Freedom Hall and the Kentucky Exposition Center will also serve as a shelter for fans to wait out a storm.

"Our goal is to have the complete show this weekend, that is what we are working toward, that is what we are planning for and that is what we are believing is going to happen," McCurry said.

As vendors unloaded and set up, they tell us sometime the rain only adds to a show.

"We welcome the rain and rain doesn't stop rock and roll," said Squiggy Digiacomo, the chief officer of the festival's Music Experience.

"Sometimes the rain brings out an energy and a little bit of madness to a live performance," McCurry said.

Any weather announcements will be made on video boards, social media and the music festival's app.

"We want people to come prepared but know that we are also preparing and that we are going to rock this weekend and we are going to have a really good time," McCurry said.

The two festivals are expected to bring an economic impact of more than $33 million to Louisville.

Mötley Crüe, Korn, Slipknot and Slayer will headline the festival.

On top of the four headliners, Breaking Benjamin, Anthrax, Staind, Evanescence, Disturbed, Judas Priest and Dropkick Murphys join a lengthy list of acts that includes Louisville's Tantric.

Last year, the rock music festival brought people to Louisville from all 50 states and 22 countries to see Green Day, Foo Fighters, Tool, Pantera, Avenged Sevenfold and Weezer, bringing in a record 180,000 people for the festival.
