LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Remember the talk on the DOGE stimulus checks? We've got the latest.
Almost all of us remember how helpful the stimulus checks were. They helped with everyday bills, food, and more.
The talk of the checks all started when President Donald Trump and Elon Musk mused about taking 20% of the savings DOGE is making in federal spending and giving it back to taxpayers. Some economists first said that could be as much as $5,000 per family.
Officials are now saying that the checks have now been backed down to $1,200 to $2,500, based on the amount of money it appears DOGE will save, and checks may only go to tax paying families.
Some congress members are saying that the government shouldn't be handing out any money until it balances the budget.
Confusing? Yes. Bottom line - it's going to be a wait, so patience is a virtue.
