LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Looking to buy concert tickets to one of this year's hottest shows? You'll find that prices are higher than ever.
After last year's Taylor Swift concert-mania, music lovers had hoped that ticket prices would come back to Earth this year. Unfortunately, that's not the case.
One woman was stunned to see what hit her card after purchasing some musical festival tickets.
General admission tickets showed to be $45, so she ordered 3 tickets thinking she would know the price.
Wrong. It came out to be $417. She ended up paying double the original price, plus a $93 service fee.
The woman had bought tickets from a third party resale site, where prices for some shows are going through the roof.
To prevent a nightmare like this, the Better Business Bureau suggests that you only buy from reputable websites.
Sites like these include Stubhub, Vivid Seats, 333-Seat, and Gametime.
Some of 2024's most expensive concerts include:
- Olivia Rodrigo - $963 per ticket
- Bruno Mars - $619 per ticket
- Morgan Wallen - $562 per ticket
- Pearl Jam - $523 per ticket
- Noah Kahan - $462 per ticket
- The Rolling Stones - $430 per ticket
You can often avoid high resale prices by signing up for an artist's fan club, where you get the chance to buy presale tickets at face value.
