LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- DoorDash is joining in on the "buy now, pay later" trend, letting you stretch out payments for your dinner.
More and more people are turning to these plans as a way of paying for things when money is tight.
DoorDash is partnering up with Klarna, letting you extend payments for several months without paying any interest fees.
Younger people love the idea, it's like using a credit card. If you don't have $20 to pay for your Chipotle burrito and drink, just pay for it later!
So is it a good idea? DoorDash is not the cheapest. Food prices can be higher, plus the app has fees, and you have to tip your driver.
Online threads are filled with posts about this, showing how a $24 pizza turned into a $43 charge.
Start postponing that through "buy now pay later," do it over and over, and suddenly you're in debt.
For a couch or a car repair when you don't have the money? Sure. But paying over time for fast food? Think hard about that one.
