LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Big Lots, Party City, and many smaller stores are shutting down this new year.
Most of them are now running store closing sales. But, are they really worth it?
Big Lots closing sale signs say up to 50% off at some location, and Party City is also starting liquidation sales at all 700 of its stores.
As shoppers often find, the closing deals may not be a great deal.
The problem with liquidation sales is that the big markdowns don't come in the first couple of weeks.
By the time the deals get down to half price, the shelves are often bare. And in most cases, all sales are final.
So sure, you may find bargains at a closing sale, but remember sizes and supplies will be limited and returns aren't accepted.
