LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Heavy metal legends will headline the first night of Louder than Life in 2026.

In a news release Thursday, the festival said Iron Maiden will headline Thursday, Sept. 17, as part of the band's Run for Your Lives World Tour.

The British band sprung from east London in 1975 and grew with a worldwide following of the band's music that changed the landscape of rock and roll. Over the past 50 years, Iron Maiden has released nine studio albums from their self-titled debut to Fear of the Dark each featuring its iconic ghoul "Eddie" on every album.

Iron Maiden joins My Chemical Romance as the second headliner announced for 2026 by LTL. Early Bird passes are expected to be released later this fall. Festival fans, known as Loudmouths, are encouraged to signed up for first access to the priority presale and updates about the festival. Click here. 

In 2026, Louder Than Life will come first, from Sept. 17-20. Then, Bourbon & Beyond will follow Sept. 24-27. Both festivals will happen at the Kentucky Exposition Center.
