Good Gravy Boat

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Holiday World's newest roller coaster "Good Gravy" is set to open in May, and the seats were recently unveiled.

Riders will be sitting in a giant gravy boat-shaped train

The theme park unveiled the coach at the 2024 International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions Expo in Orlando.

“Good Gravy! is built for families,” said Matt Eckert, President & CEO of Holiday World, in a news release on Wednesday. “We’re a park known for high-quality, custom roller coasters that excel in their categories, and Vekoma has delivered yet another for us. Between the tight turns and quirky theme, this coaster is going to be an instant family favorite!”

Once strapped into the gravy boat, riders will be pulled backwards uphill before flying forward past giant kitchen utensils and a cranberry jelly can, reaching a top speed of 37 miles per hour.

Once you think the ride is over, the coaster will then take you through all the way backwards.

The family coaster's height requirement is 38 inches, so children as young as three years old can ride along.

Along with the Good Gravy! ride, the park is also adding a Stuffing Springs, which will feature a children’s play area, benches, and shade, as well as a Dippin' Dots stand made from a refurbished 1964 Airstream Camper.

Holiday World and Good Gravy! will open to Season Passholders on May 4 and 5, 2024, and will open to the public on May 11, 2024.
