LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Officials in southern Indiana have plans to build a park on a 36-acre piece of donated property on Middle Road.Â
That's according to a report from our partners at Business First.Â
Jeffersonville Parks director Paul Northam told Business First that plans are still being finalized for Silos Park, which will be located near the old Ellingsworth farm, now known as Ellingsworth Commons Community. The park will feature a playground, pavilion, 2-acre dog park, a paved walking trail and open green space available for nearby residents.Â
Northam said city officials will review completed designs and ask for bids from contractors sometime in mid-May or early June. Construction could start in late summer.Â
Northam won't have an estimate on how much it will cost to build or maintain the space until contractors have been chosen.Â
The property was gifted to the city by Clarksville-based developer Jeff Corbett with Premier Homes of Southern Indiana.Â
The developer's Ellingsworth Commons subdivision backs up to what will soon be the Silos Park, and another entrance will be added along the 4200 block of Middle Road.
