LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- More than 170,000 people attended the four-day Louder Than Life last weekend at the Highland Festival Grounds.

Kiss, Alice Cooper, Shinedown, Slipknot and Red Hot Chili Peppers headlined the massive festival at the Kentucky Exposition Center.

In a news release Thursday, event producer Danny Wimmer Presents said — along with Bourbon & Beyond bringing in 140,000 people the week prior — 70% of attendees were from out of state and contributed more than $33 million in economic impact.

According to the most recent data from the Kentucky Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus, Louisville had a 92.8% hotel occupancy rate from Sept. 11-17, encompassing the range around Bourbon & Beyond. That's up 15% from 2019, the last year the Bourbon & Beyond was held.

Louder Than Life also announced next year's festival dates: Sept. 21-24, 2023.
