LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A popular southern Indiana restaurant opened a second location Wednesday in Louisville.

The Exchange, based in New Albany, opened on the first floor of the Hotel Genevieve in NuLu, according to our partners at Louisville Business First. It occupies a nearly 3,000-square-foot space that was vacated by French-inspired bistro Byrdie's, which closed in January.

The NuLu location is the first Louisville location for the restaurant group operated by Ian and Nikki Hall.

The owners said the restaurant is neighborhood style, focusing on local ingredients and warm hospitality.

"We're excited to officially open The Exchange NuLu," Ian Hall said. "This is a new kind of neighborhood restaurant for NuLu, rooted in local ingredients, warm hospitality and a menu designed to feel both elevated and approachable."

The NuLu location expands the flagship's hope to encourage community through its open floor plan.

The Exchange opened in New Albany in 2011.
