LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A new bagel spot has opened in St. Matthews.
Barry Bagels opened at 4123 Oechsli Avenue, off Thierman Lane, Sunday. There are more than 50 locations across the country, but it's the first in the Louisville area.
The bagel shop is also a deli with salads, meats and soups. The company also tries to give back to local communities.
"We also emphasize our impact in the community," said Brian Lewis, a Barry Bagels franchise owner. "Whether it be through donations or community involvement or even using the extra food we have for food banks and donating that on a regular basis."
Barry Bagels offers 17 different varieties. It is family-owned and has had the the same recipe for 54 years.
