LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A new fine dining restaurant and tasting room is now open on a prominent corner in downtown Louisville.

Log Still Distillery celebrated the grand opening of Monk's Road Boiler House Wednesday afternoon on Whiskey Row with a ribbon-cutting and a bourbon toast.

The high-end restaurant took over the space on West Main Street previously occupied by Bearno's Pizza, right by the Second Street Bridge and the KFC Yum! Center.

The pizza joint announced last November that it would be relocating Bearno's By the Bridge to the corner of South 3rd and West Market streets.

It's the only place the distillery wanted to put Monk's Road.

"This is absolutely where we want it, and I was telling my friends if I can't make this work, someone needs to fire me," Wally Dant, president of Log Still Distillery, said.

Monk's Road features a "luxury chophouse-style menu" that highlights the distillery's bourbons and gins, and Rattle & Snap Tennessee Whiskeys.

The restaurant has two levels. The upper level features the restaurant portion of the venue. Guests can then head to the lower level, where there is a speakeasy-style bar for tastings and "curated bourbon experiences."
