LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A new restaurant featuring West African food officially opened on Bardstown Road on Saturday.

Clarice Kitchen is located at 4113 Bardstown Road in Buechel. Charlesetta Norkeh, the restaurant's owner, came to Louisville from Liberia in 2011. That's when the dream of opening a restaurant first started.

"It's a long, long dream come true. It took family support, prayers," Norkeh said. "It took lots of hard work to get here."

After renovating the space into a restaurant, Clarice Kitchen celebrated a ribbon cutting on Saturday. It will serve traditional West African dishes.

"We're going to serve a variety, we'll have chicken, fried or baked tilapia, we'll have GB soup," Norkeh said. "Palava sauce, okra sauce. We have so many choices."

There is seating inside the restaurant, and people can also carry-out. Norkeh said there will also be online third-party delivery services available to bring the food to patrons. People can also call (502) 648-7352 to place an order.

The restaurant is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
