LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A child was hospitalized for smoke inhalation after a house fire Wednesday morning in Louisville's Portland neighborhood.
It happened around 11 a.m. Feb. 5 at a home in the 300 block of North 27th Street, off Northwestern Parkway, according to a news release from the Louisville Fire Department..
Officials said crews responding to reports of the fire found flames and smoke coming from the rear of the two-story house. Crews made an aggressive interior attack while searching the home.
Everyone inside was able to get out before crews arrived, but a child was taken the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. There's no word on the child's condition.
It took 25 firefighters around 19 minutes to gain control of the fire.
The Red Cross is helping those displaced by the fire.
