LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The city of Bardstown declared a "water shortage emergency" Wednesday evening.
According to a statement, the Bardstown Water Treatment Plant had a "weather-related equipment failure" Wednesday morning. This caused a reduction in their ability to treat water for delivery.
This is a water shortage emergency status 2.
"Our staff is working diligently to remediate the situation," the city said in a statement.
Officials are asking for all non-essential water uses to be reduced for the time being. Residents are also asked to conserve water the best they can.
