LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A home in the Russell neighborhood was damaged in a fire Thursday night.
According to Louisville Fire Captain Donovan Sims, crews were called to the 2500 block of West Chestnut Street just after 6 p.m. They arrived within four minutes of the call and found heavy flames extending to the top floor of the home, and threatening nearby homes.
It took 36 firefighters operating from multiple different trucks and two battalion chiefs almost an hour to gain control of the fire.
Sims said additional resources, like an extra engine and truck, were requested due to the severity of the fire.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation by Louisville Fire's Arson Bureau.
