LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man was taken to the hospital late Thursday after he was shot in the Russell neighborhood. 

It happened around 11:30 p.m., according to a news release from Louisville Metro Police. That's when officers from the 1st Division responded to a shots fired call in the 1700 block of W. Chestnut Street. 

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man with "what appears to be a non-fatal gunshot wound." He was taken to UofL Hospital for treatment where he was listed in serious but stable condition, according to the release.

There are no known suspects at this time, and anyone with information is asked to call the LMPD crime tipline at 502-574-LMPD (574-5673) or use the online crime tip portal. You can remain anonymous.
