LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A 15-year-old girl is in the hospital after being shot in the Russell neighborhood early Thursday morning.
Louisville Metro Police were called to the 500 block of Dr. WJ Hodge Street around 2:19 a.m. on a reported shooting, department spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said in a release.
When they arrived, police found a 15-year-old girl who had been shot in the thigh. Mitchell said shots were fired into the home from an unknown vehicle that fled the scene.
The girl was alert and conscious when she was taken to University of Louisville Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
LMPD's Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is investigating.
