LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Louisville woman has been arrested and charged in the death of a 1-year-old child.

Louisville Metro Police arrested 19-year-old Saniya Frazier early Tuesday morning.

According to court documents, in August Frazier "wantonly caused the death of the 1-year-old by leaving pills containing Fentanyl" where the child could get them in her purse.

Frazier found the child unresponsive and called for help, according to court documents. The child was taken to Norton Women and Children's Hospital in St. Matthews where they died.

Frazier told first responders on scene that the child had access to her purse that contained five pills, and that she only found one pill left after finding the child unresponsive, court documents said.

Frazier is being held at Louisville Metro Corrections on a $250,000 bond. She is due in court Wednesday morning.
