LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Two people were arrested after police found drugs in a bag labeled "definitely not a bag full of drugs."
Tricia Croley, 51, and Damon Bennett, 48, both of Williamsburg, Kentucky, were arrested June 18 in Laurel County, Kentucky.
According to the county sheriff's office, Croley and Bennett were in a vehicle parked in the employee area of a local business when they were approached by a detective, who noticed a plastic bag of suspected narcotics.
Police said Croley gave the detective a false ID card belonging to another woman. That's when the officer found a black bag labeled "definitely not a bag full of drugs," which did in fact contain suspected narcotics, police said.
According to an arrest citation, police found a plastic bag of a crystal-like substance, "a plastic bag of green leafy substance," and drug paraphernalia, including used syringes, plastic bags with residue, cigarette filters and a metal spoon with residue.
When Croley provided her correct information, police learned she had a warrant out on an indictment. According to court records, the indictment was for a July 2025 charge of possession of methamphetamine in the first degree. She's expected to be arraigned on the indictment July 6.
Croley was arrested and charged with giving an officer false identifying information; possession of methamphetamine; possession of a controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of marijuana and having a prescribed controlled substance not in a proper container. She's being held at the Laurel County Correctional Complex on a $5,000 bond. Her next court appearance was scheduled for June 30.
Bennett, police said, had outstanding warrants and was taken into custody. Online jail records show he was cited for failure to appear and released on a $100 bond.
