LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two people were killed and several others were injured after a weekend of gun violence across Louisville.
1st Shooting — Saturday Night
The violence started late around 11:20 p.m. Saturday, according to a news release from the Louisville Metro Police Department. Officers from LMPD's 1st Division responded to a report of a shooting in the 2600 block of West Broadway. When officers arrived at that location, they found a man, believed to be in his 40s, with a gunshot wound to the head.
Officers provided aid until the victim was taken to UofL Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Investigators believe the man was shot in the parking lot of Dino's Food Mart.
Police are searching for suspects.
2nd Shooting — Sunday Afternoon
The violent weekend continued with another shooting at 3:10 p.m. Sunday. LMPD officers from the 2nd Division responded to the 1300 block of Catalpa street on a report of a shooting, according to a news release. That's where they found a man in his 30s with a gunshot wound to the chest.
The victim was taken to UofL Hospital, but his injuries weren't considered life-threatening, according to the release. No arrests have been made in the case.
3rd Shooting — Sunday Afternoon
About an hour-and-a-half later, at 4:30 p.m., officers from LMPD's 2nd Division responded to a separate shooting report in the 1000 block S. 26th St., according to a release. When officers arrived at that location, they found a 44-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the torso area.
The victim was taken to UofL Hospital but later died from his injuries. Police said investigators have determined that the shooting "stemmed from some type of altercation involving several people and we believe all parties have been accounted for." Investigators are still working to determine if charges are appropriate, according to the release.
4th Shooting — Sunday Evening
Around 7:50 p.m., LMPD officers from the 1st Division then responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 1200 block of Place Argente. That's where officers found a 14-year-old male, a block away from the alert, suffering who had been shot once in the leg. Officers applied a tourniquet until EMS arrived and took him to UofL Hospital for treatment.
5th Shooting — Sunday Evening
Another man was found fatally shot just before 9 p.m. in the 3600 block of Henry Avenue in the Wyandotte neighborhood. That's where officers from LMPD's 4th Division found the man, believed to be in his 20s, with a gunshot to the middle torso.
Investigators believe he was shot outside of the Bloom Liquor Store in the 3600 block of Taylor Blvd. LMPD believes the victim then walked about three blocks, before collapsing on Henry Avenue.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
6th Shooting — Monday Morning
Another shooting happened early Monday, around 2 a.m., in the 1500 block of Breckinridge Lane, according to a news release. That's where LMPD officers from the 6th Division responded to a report of a shooting in the 1500 block of West Breckinridge Lane. Officers arrived to find a man in his 60s who had been shot in the chest.
He was taken to UofL Hospital but his injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, according to the release.
