LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two southern Indiana businesses are accused of selling marijuana.

In a social media post Monday, Scott County Sheriff Jerry Goodin said searches happened simultaneously in three locations in Scottsburg around 1 p.m. Monday after a two-month investigation.

The searches were at the Country Boy Food Mart and Scott's Food Mart, both on South Gardner Street. Goodin said the undercover buys of marijuana were made from the businesses, which are also accused of the illegal sale of vapes to minors.

The sheriff said the raid wasn't about whether marijuana should or should not be legal.

"This is a total case of keeping our kids safe," Goodin said in a recorded statement. "Our kids have no business going into business establishments and possibly purchasing these illegal substances."

A home on South Washington Street in Scottsburg was also searched. The sheriff said several arrests were made and items were seized.

More information is expected soon.
