LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man is dead after a shooting in Louisville's Russell neighborhood Friday night.
Officers were called to a home in the 2700 block of Cedar Street around 8:40 p.m. on a reported shooting, Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Sgt. Matt Sanders said in a news release. That's not far from South 26th Street and West Muhammad Ali Boulevard.
Once on scene, police found a man in his 30s with a gunshot wound to the face. Sanders said the shooting happened inside of a home, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
In an update Saturday, police said 25-year-old Maria Swann was arrested and charged with murder - domestic violence.
According to court documents, Swann waived her Miranda Rights and admitted to police that she shot the victim during a verbal altercation. Police said the victim and suspect lived together and were in a relationship.
