LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville judge has set a $250,000 bond for a man charged with murder after a double shooting in Valley Station last month that left a man dead and a woman hospitalized.

LMPD officers arrested 26-year-old Joseph McDonald Friday afternoon. He's charged with murder and first-degree assault (domestic violence) in connection with the July 24 shooting on Dixie Highway. That's where officers found the victim, who was shot and died later at the hospital.

A woman was also shot and taken to the hospital, but her injuries were not life-threatening.

McDonald pleaded not guilty during his arraignment on Aug. 9, and a public defender was appointed on his behalf.

He is due back in court on Aug. 18.
