LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A missing 3-month-old boy in Indiana was found dead in an apartment.

Indiana State Police issued a Silver Alert on Saturday night for Jacob Moneus because it was believed he was in extreme danger.

Moneus was missing from Lafayette, about an hour northwest of Indianapolis.

The Lafayette Police Department said the baby was found dead Sunday morning in an apartment after an extensive search, FOX59 News reported

Elisard Moneus is now a person of interest in the baby's death. Police said he was arrested on charges of attempted murder related to a domestic violence incident that occurred Saturday.

Police said they met the victim in that case at the hospital after she called to report the disturbance. That's when they were told the 3-month-old was left at the home where the incident happened. When police went there, they didn't find the child or Elisard Moneus. That's when the Silver Alert was issued.

According to FOX59, Elisard Moneus was found Sunday morning in Indianapolis where he was taken into custody. He is currently being held without bond. Police said the victim in the domestic violence incident is expected to survive.

Police said they found the baby Sunday "concealed in an area that made him difficult to find."

Right now, Moneus is not charged in the baby's death. An autopsy was scheduled for Monday afternoon to determine a cause of death.
