LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man died at a hospital three days after being shot multiple times at a St. Matthews apartment complex.

According to Assistant Chief Tony Cobaugh with the St. Matthews Police Department, officers were called Aug. 16 to the 800 block of Markham Lane atĀ the Jamestown at St. Matthews ApartmentsĀ around 10:59 a.m. on a reported shooting.

Police were on scene within three minutes of the call. When they arrived, they were met by two people outside of the apartment where the shooting happened. One of the subjects told police that there was someone inside in need of medical attention.

A man was found inside the residence with "multiple gunshot wounds," according to Cobaugh.

According to the Jefferson County Coroner's Office on Saturday, 48-year-old Jeremy Thomas died on Aug. 19 at the hospital.

Cobaugh said the shooting was between two family members.

It's unknown at this time if charges have been filed.
