LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 78-year-old man was arrested earlier this week, after St. Matthews Police served a search warrant at his home and found hundreds of images of children under 12 engaged in sex acts with adults.

According to an arrest report, the investigation began this summer, after Jack Hancock, of Taylorsville, took his computer to Best Buy on Shelbyville Road on Aug. 28 to have the files on it moved to an external hard drive. Investigators said employees were verifying that all the files were transferred, when they found files containing child pornography.

The employees notified the St. Matthews Police Department, and a search warrant was executed at Hancock's home in Taylorsville around 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 14. Investigators said they found hundreds of images of children -- under the age of 12 -- engaged in sex acts with adults.

Hancock was in the process of downloading more child porn when investigators raided his home, according to the arrest citation.

Hancock is charged with numerous counts of possessing matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor under 12. Police said he gave a statement admitting to downloading at least 300 sexually explicit images of children with adults.

He was arraigned in Louisville Tuesday morning, and a judge set his bond at $10,000. His next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 23.
