LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Bullitt County woman will spend 30 years in prison for stabbing and kidnapping a man before forcing him into the Ohio River.
Nicole Stivers was arrested in November 2020 and sentenced on Tuesday. As a violent offender, Stivers must serve 85% of her 30-year prison sentence.
According to police, Stivers admitted to stabbing Justin Burt in the abdomen, forcing him at knifepoint into her vehicle, driving to Indiana, and forcing him into the Ohio River in September 2020.
Burt was never found.
Stivers' husband, Brandon Stivers, was arrested in February. He pleaded guilty on Tuesday and is expected to be sentenced to 30 years as well when he appears for a hearing on May 31.
Nicole Stivers previously said her husband got angry with Burt after he came over to talk to her.
